Bloom Series
Wild Blooms I grew from the idea of a single bloom refusing to disappear into its surroundings. The oversized fuchsia flower rises against a deep olive ground, with smaller wildflowers and loose botanical marks scattered beneath it. I wanted the scale to feel slightly unexpected, almost defiant, while still keeping a softness in the finer details. The darker background lets the colour feel illuminated, and the contrast between the bold central bloom and the smaller marks beneath gives the work both confidence and movement.
She has enough presence to hold a hallway, bedroom or entry on her own, especially against warm timber, linen or darker finishes that echo the depth behind the bloom.

Look closer
Photographs only partly capture the depth and detail of these paintings.
To help you see the layers, texture and richness, I have created detail views in the gallery. Each is a true section of the painting, labelled at the top of the image, in this order:
Centre · Top Left · Top Right · Bottom Right · Bottom Left, and the side with my signature.
I hope this helps. Please feel free to call or email if you would like more close-ups, or even better, come and visit me at the studio if you can.
