More than a decade of designing rooms. Now I paint for them.
My creative career has always revolved around colour, texture and materials, from growing up surrounded by handwoven rugs, to creative direction, event styling and more than a decade designing residential interiors.
At 50, I expanded into painting. It felt less like starting again and more like bringing together everything that came before. I know the feeling of a finished room where something is still missing: the wall waiting for the right piece. Every work here is painted with that wall in mind.
I build each painting layer upon layer, working with plaster, gold and copper leaf, twigs and paint. The surfaces shift with the light from morning to evening, which photography can only partly capture. My studio assistant, Lockie, supervises everything.
Meet Lockie, my fur baby.
The Studio
I built a studio in Newport, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches located right on Pittwater
I designed every detail to be aesthetically pleasing and versatile yet practical enough to work as a real art studio.
A space designed entirely around painting, experimenting and creating.
If you are in Sydney, I’d love to welcome you to my Newport studio, to experience the layers, texture and detail of my work in person.
Visits are welcome by appointment.

The Botanical Thread
Gathered through life and woven through my artwork…
A flower finds its way into almost everything I make. Sometimes it arrives whole and bold, a bloom at the scale of weather. More often it hides: a sprig half hidden beneath gold leaf, a stem drawn in a single line and half buried, or a scattering at the base of a moon.
They are gathered twice over. Some come from the ground. Much of what is folded into these surfaces grew within walking distance of the studio, so each work carries a season, a tide, a particular week of light off the water.
Others are gathered through a life: flowers that arrive at a birth or a funeral, a bunch from a friend, or stems remembered from someone else’s garden. They appear at the moments that matter, so they keep finding their way into the paint.
I don’t paint them as symbols. I gather them, and I weave them into my artworks. Paint, plaster, leaf and stem, in strata, until the surface reads as ground rather than image. Look closely at any of my work and something will be growing in it.
Look closer, flower details from across my collection.
