Sky Series
Golden Hour began with the feeling of the last light of the day, that brief point when everything seems to slow before darkness arrives. I was thinking less about painting a literal landscape and more about holding onto that sense of pause. I built the surface through deep umber, gold and layered texture, allowing the circular form to become a quiet point of focus rather than the whole story. I want the viewer to notice the tension between stillness and movement in the surface, and the way the gold changes as the light moves across it. From a distance, I hope the work feels calm and resolved. Up close, I want it to reveal something more complex, weathered and alive.
Give her two and a half metres of clear wall. She sings beside limed oak, travertine, warm whites and brass.
