Sky Series

Soft neutral layers and delicate textural marks create a sense of movement without noise. The ground is interference paint, so the colour you see depends on where you stand and how the light falls: walk past her and she shifts, glowing one way from the left and another from the right. The effect gives the work a quiet luminosity and reinforces its feeling of movement and release, with a bird leaving his nest across that changing ground. At first glance it feels restrained and open, but the finer marks, textures and changing light gradually reveal themselves the longer you stay with it.

Minimal enough for the most architectural room and warm enough for a family home.

Look closer

Photographs only partly capture the depth and detail of these paintings.

To help you see the layers, texture and richness, I have created detail views in the gallery. Each is a true section of the painting, labelled at the top of the image, in this order:

Centre · Top Left · Top Right · Bottom Right · Bottom Left, and the side with my signature.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to call or email if you would like more close-ups, or even better, come and visit me at the studio if you can.
