Scape Series
Rustic Scapes is about the meeting point between landscape and structure. I was thinking about weathered surfaces, fragments of architecture and the way time changes both natural and built environments. I worked intuitively, layering warm earth tones, texture and more defined structural marks, then partially obscuring them so the image never resolves into one fixed place. I want the viewer to feel as though they recognise something without being able to name exactly what it is. The quieter passages are as important to me as the more worked areas because they create the sense of distance and pause. What I hope people notice most is the history in the surface, the marks that remain, the ones that disappear, and the tension between order and erosion.
Her landscape format in oak was made for above a sofa or a credenza, and she bridges rustic and contemporary rooms without effort.

Look closer
Photographs only partly capture the depth and detail of these paintings.
To help you see the layers, texture and richness, I have created detail views in the gallery. Each is a true section of the painting, labelled at the top of the image, in this order:
Centre · Top Left · Top Right · Bottom Right · Bottom Left, and the side with my signature.
I hope this helps. Please feel free to call or email if you would like more close-ups, or even better, come and visit me at the studio if you can.
