I worked intuitively, layering warm earth tones, texture and more defined structural marks, then partially obscuring them so the image never resolves into one fixed place. I want the viewer to feel as though they recognise something without being able to name exactly what it is. The quieter passages are as important to me as the more worked areas because they create the sense of distance and pause.
